The Zurich electorate rejected the idea of a new building for the congress center in Zurich. It would have meant demolishing the building by Haefeli, Moser, Steiger. The fundamental renovation of the Tonhalle was completed in 2021. The architectural team from the Boesch Diener consortium skillfully combined tradition and modernity. Among other things, the existing building had to be supplemented with new passenger and goods lifts.
